Sabrosa Rey

Sabrosa Ray was a really interesting project in the way that it evolved. It started off as a personal project that I created in order to experiment with placing text within a collage of illustrations. However, as the illustration began to evolve it took the design in an entirely different direction.

The Process

What began as a simple enough idea took a few twists and turns along the way as you’ll see from the early sketches. Getting the right kind of type was important also. It would have to compliment the illustration but be able to stand out in it’s own right.

The Result

Sticking to your original intentions throughout the creative process is obviously important and should be the general rule but in some some instances it shouldn’t come at the cost of ignoring a potentially better option should it present itself during that process.
